The Certificate in Business & Entrepreneurship has been designed to provide you with a range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge about the business arena. This programme will ensure that you will be introduced to a range of contemporary business issues.
You will learn the fundamental elements that incorporate the business owner lifecycle and management skills that will help you during your entrepreneurial ventures or to successfully overcome challenges and obstacles you may face in your workplace.
The aim of this certificate is to provide you with the knowledge necessary to analyse a range of business management issues and the challenges facing successful entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurship courses are suitable for anyone interested in starting and growing a successful business. You will understand and propose solutions to problems that exist in today’s business environments.
Upon successfully completing this certificate, you will have the ability to identify the attributes that are required within a successful entrepreneur and you will also be able to propose solutions to problems that exist in today’s business environments.

The module aims to provide you with an understanding of the key roles that a manager plays in terms of planning, organising, leading and controlling the organisation.
You will study:

Entrepreneurship has been a common global economic concept. This module introduces the foundations of entrepreneurship that are important to understanding the decisions that entrepreneurs make, the environment in which they make those decisions and the tasks they must take before launching a new venture.
The module content comprises the following:

The Certificate in Business and Entrepreneurship will be delivered over a semester (18 weeks, including exams).
You will be assessed using a combination of exams and continuous assessment throughout the semester.
On completion, you will receive a QQI Certificate in Business & Entrepreneurship at level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications.
After completing this certificate, you can progress on to a career in business or innovation management in SMEs or multinational organisations.
Students who would like to further their academic career can choose to continue their studies through our Bachelor of Business degree and would be exempted from the modules completed within their certificate.
Students are required to have a Leaving Certificate 5 passes or High School Diploma equivalent and are required to have an English Language qualification at CEFR B2 or above.
English language classes at the start of the programme are obligatory for non-native speakers.
